joon, even if you didnt discount the idea. even if you 100% wholeheartedly believed that the concept was true...what would you do? my guess is the same thing you do every day.

why not just try harder right now, just in case?  also, it wouldnt matter if you tried right now because your destiny would be fated anyways.  your "trying harder" would actually either not work or be built into the plan regardless.

i don't try harder because i don't actually believe it, i just try and take it seriously as a thought experiment. it's a lot easier to coast through life than try and be happy all the time, and i am a lazy man :D

Given an infinite amount of time, everything that can happen in the universe, will happen.
More like, "Given infinite alternate universes (forking from possibility, think fractally :3), everything that can happen, does happen."

Some events are time-dependent and can't happen at the same time, so not everything that can happen will.

Also: "self" is an illusion. A useful one, evolutionarily; yes. It's just a feedback loop that we've convinced ourselves must have some tangible presence in or outside the body. Because we're capable of projecting our thoughts further ahead in time than any other creature, we naturally start to fear for the future of our "selves" and wonder what might happen to "it" after we die.

Back to Eternal Recurrence:

I think time is better spent figuring out how to sustain life indefinitely.

'self' constructs, where we create narratives for ourselves, yes, but phenomenally, it is very real. a thing, a subject perceives, the phenomenal self is that thing

Is there supposed to be text in the original post of this thread?

I believe in reincarnation and I believe I have lived before. On Earth, on other planets, and in other dimensions. I believe that I am part of the Universe and the Universe(s) is infinite. Time is an illusion of the physical realm. Really, there is only just existence at different vibrational levels.
