Beginner user checklist
« on: September 10, 2009, 07:14:44 PM »

As the topic title suggest, This is an easy new-user checklist for people who may be confused as to where to start or how they can improve their community activity. You should follow these in roughly chronological order:

-Have you viewed our tutorial and bio vids? If you are not familiar with alot of basic concepts it would be very beneficial to you to visit our main site and learn about them in the tutorials section as well as some of the active posters/dancers of floasis in the bios sections. You can also view our still early but developing wiki which reinforces alot of the ideas of the tutorials. Lastly, if you have any questions about one concept or the dance in general don't forget to ask questions in the dance discussion of the site.

-Have you asked about dancers in your area? You should! learn who you can meet up and dance with so that you can maximize your growth, not to mention liquid dancing with friends is much better than by yourself. Check the community's Member Map to find other dancers around you and be sure to add yourself while you're there.

-Have you posted a video? posting a video in the clip crypt can be a invaluable tool in gauging your skill as well as learning what areas you should work on and how. You should also be checking out other threads/videos in this section because reading critiques of other videos can reveal tips that you may have not thought about adding to your dance.

-Have you started a Journey Thread/Journal? It can be a great way for the other dancers here to know you better, tell us a little about yourself, how you came to be a dancer and your personal philosophy/thoughts about it.

-What about the rest of the forum? If you've done everything in the list so far, its probably a good idea to get to know some of us on a personal level. There are many entertaining off-topic threads that we post in such as the bored at work thread or you can visit the entertainment section to discuss any good movies/music/books/anything that has caught your interest lately.

Welcome to floasis, stick around for awhile :)
