i really like the ones w/ the water burster out of the clothes, tis a shame most of these arent wallpaper sized because we are actually looking for good liquid/water themed backgrounds for the main site(video gallery). if any of u guys find somethin pass it along

I shrunk them. The original of the water coming out of the cloths is 1280 x 1896. The underwater one is 500 x 750. I could change the size of any of them with Ifranview if you wanted.

oh no worries man i know my way around an image editor heh :), what i meant tho was wallpaper dimensions, ie 1280x1024 and such, of course i could just add black background to the one i said i liked but that'd be alot of nothing going on in the rest of the picture. and i dont think it would match anything else we would find, i wish the tutorial that that person did that from was available for free. i looked it up and its in some art magazine.

you do need permission, or sometimes ur not allowed to use them at all, depends on what time of creative commons license they have, we've got permission from most the artist for our current bgs on the main site. i'm starting to get lazy on asking for permission tho lol, since this site dosent really get much traffic at all, chances are nobody from deviantart will find their way here, i'm thinking about ripping alot of their massive smilie collection off haha =x

and yea while there are heaps of good water/liquid pictures around, alot of them are not suitable or dont match the rest of the stuff on the site, design is a fickle bitch, yet needs to be respected :)

Hmmm yeah i get you then.

But seriously, the pic with the waterman guy on it.. I dig that lots. lol. I reckon it'd be good to use for the site.

What does all the mountains and stuff mean on your background layout for floasis?

the mountain stuff was representative of the winter season for floasis (as it's winter here in the midwest united states), same with the new colour scheme for the boards.

the one that i mentioned, is still a canadate for the next splash screen whenever we decide to update the site next, but that wont be for AWHILE.

the moutains in this update are basically a continuation of the previous idea, set to a winter theme. pathways(or flow paths, if you will) growing out of and supplimenting nature. liquid is a dance and dance is an art. a definition of art is Human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature. thats the way i look at it anyway :).
