A day late and a minute short.
« on: March 02, 2009, 05:19:37 PM »

Better late then never tho right ?

I didn't really get much footage of what I actually wanted to work on, I kept getting side tracked and messing with different concepts and styles. I did manage to get a solid minute of me doing handflow without a hand a typical handwave in the mix. I have no idea what to call it so for now im just gonna call it " Open hand" liquid. I also tried to mix some robotic elements in there but it didn't go to smoothly.

I liked it a lot and can't really offer any critique. I will say that it looked more like liquid with elements of robot mixed in than the other way around, and I would be curious to see a robot w/elements of liquid. I guess if anything, if that's what you're going for, be more patient with the robot.

i'm w/ joon, dug it and cant offer much critique, there were a couple parts tho where you turned and turned right back when i thought it would've looked better if u did something else with it like go low or keep turning the first way. also i think working some digits in wouldnt hurt, i dont think it would come out  looking too much like kai's clip either.

itchy made a clip like this not too far back named 'Experimental Rigidhand Concepts', but its private right now....*sends youtube friend invite 2 itch*

Yeah I don't like the "claw" hand position either, but that's just personal. Some parts of your robot looked really good with really nice dimestops. What's your reasoning behind the robot? Like what kind of robot are you?

I dunno, I was thinkin about that today when i was doin some bot. Like, am I man imitating a robot ? Or a robot imitating a man ? Or am imitating another mechanical being entirely ?

 More experiments are required.

And to anyone that wasn't feeling this clip, I'll do my best to make it visually appealing in this next month. But I'm thinking that overall this hand position will likely only be used here and there. Not consistently as I've done in this clip.

I think it's good that you've given yourself something to really clean up by next month.  Dancing with you the past few months I've already seen how your style has effected mine, so I'm looking forward to the progress that you make as I'm sure it will lead to new advances in my style.

I don't really know what to offer up on your clip.  I would definintely try some variations in your botting, the side to side is dope and you do it well.  I might try to isolate the torso in different ways or practices some neck iso's.  Think of ways to isolate around and then back into your most comfortable pose while your botting.

Thanks as always Sir

You, kai, and tommy are def influencing my style to. Its like a big melting pot with me right now.  Tommys liquid, your waving & miming, kais builds and spatial isos.........  I can see everyones style affecting mine after making that clip and watching the footage. Until I saw that 3rd party perspective I didn't realize how much u guys were influencing me.

I think by the summer I'll have opened up a lot concerning character and presence from dancing around u tom. So thank you :)
