i know, it's already really crisp and pretty well fleshed out, i don't know how much 'improvement' you can really make and i'm running short on ideas for critiques. all i can say is that you seem kinda bolted to the floor, but i don't know if that's necessarily something that needs to be changed. i like what you do when you do involve the lower half, though. maybe some levels?

levels is definitely something im shooting for on the 2nd installation.  i realised that as well while watching.  although most of the movements are admittedly pretty crisp, it's only because the complexity of the rewinds are very very simple.  hopefully by the 2nd installation i'll be able to take 3-5 step builds and rewind them in such a crisp manner (which i cant do now) and also the same for rewinds through level changes (which i can't do now).

Yeah good luck topping this your next clip. Hands/ arms massive. Anything critical I'm going to say is grasping at straws and nit picky so keep that in mind.

The times I became disenchanted was when you let your body interfere instead of compliment what you were doing. Head obviously, but there were times when it complimented very nicely (for example at the end you did the nice follow the hand thing). So it was good or distracting. Now I know a lot of people give advice on what their personal preferences are but I try and remain as objective as possible. So instead of me telling you what I want your body to do, why don't you tell me what you're trying to accomplish. That way if I've actually ever encountered something personally I could help you. I'll just leave at this till you get back to me: I feel like if your body could accomplish half of what your arms could you would be able to battle top level poppers, with liquid, and make it interesting.

Like I said on aim, I don't feel like that was liquid at all. Of course to me that isn't a bad thing, to me it was like abstract/experimental dancing.

For that to look more whole I would def say that incorporating your entire body is essential. Go the ground, change levels, get sideways.

one more thing...sumadre

working my head into liquid and digitz has been something ive been passively working on for 3-4 months now.  i think it's territory that's being (and has been) explored by poppers concerning illusion-focused movement and i find it can really add to a blow-up.  not that anything in this clip was of that variety, but i've used it in such a way before.  perhaps i should stick to using it in such a manner?   i remember code-red doing liquid and digitz while keeping his focus on an audience rather than his dance and i found that to be very aesthetically pleasing.  it reminds of watching jugglers (and contact jugglers) who are able to manipulate objects without focusing on them, allowing them to play with facial expression and the crowd.  all very head-focused movement.

Up until your post, i've wanted my body and leg movement to simply be a frame for my arms/hands/fingers/head.  almost similar to how Frequency uses his body.  i'd love to hear suggestions as to a different path though if you have any in mind.

i'm like half-way with you on this.  cherish this moment forever, because i'm going to quote slick dogg on this one.  i remember him saying something along the lines of "let popping be the icing on your cake."   in that, all of the natural (or beat-in) dance movement that is sacred to you is your cake.  it's your groove.  and any style should be "icing" on top of that.  that's what i feel a combination of liquid, digitz, waving, tutting (and sometimes the mashpotatoe and the twist) are to me right now.  i move the way i move and those styles add flavour to my movement.

i consider it liquid but i can see where drew is coming from. the thing about builds(and remotes) is that they aren't exclusive concepts to liquid, so when you make a clip thats pretty much entirely comprised of this concept it may or may not be perceived as liquid. theres splits/rails/contours in this clip too but u'd have to actually make an effort to look for them since kai doesn't do any of them in a traditional way(for instance having a flattened hand).

i've been diggin the head movement since ur foray back into abstract liquid circa last year, but you could definitely do more with it. though i haven't really witnessed someone who does the other style of head movement(or lack of) that ur talkin about, i remember seeing on mkg's interview, or maybe it was something u mentioned him saying, about when he does digits he will stare right at a person to bug them out, cause they dont know whether to look at the hands on his face lol.

and speaking of last year, man u've got a completely different style now. your liquid has dissociative identity disorder(multiple personalities)
