I think it's great that you're putting an emphasis on footwork, and I think you're doing a good job of it. My suggestions (some of them are repeats from another thread:

-Slow it down. Maybe when you practice, try 1 cycle of flow per measure of music. I think the threshold for speed is 2 cycles per measure, generally speaking.
-Right now, the flow is contained primarily within your hands. Get more of your arms involved, past your elbows and up to your shoulders. Here are a couple clips that show what I mean:

-Play around with hand distancing.
-I know it is tempting to look at your flow because it is pretty mesmerizing, but find something more purposeful to do with your head.

I am digging your footwork, so keep that up and find ways to 'tie' it to your flow. I look forward to seeing how your next clip pans out, particularly because liquid footwork is a current interest of mine. :)

thanks for the tips man.
hahah i was addicted to that first clip for the first week or so i started doing liquid.
at the stage im at its difficult to do a lot with my whole arm and move my legs to the beat as well. can only concentrate on so much haha. thats one of the things i definitely need work on. like you said i wanna be able to tie it into my flow and not just have them be doing separate things. i have a couple other videos on youtube doing just armwork if anyone can check those out and tell me what yall think.

thanks. peace.

first, thanks for posting and taking part in our spring cleaning :)

second...play with the space around you.  seems like you have the area in front of your torso very well defined.  Might be good for you to just pick, pull, and twist sections of space around your body.

Welcome to the forum n I look forward to seeing your next clip.

cool clip and glad to see you sign up mayne. welcome to the forum :)

i see improvement from the last clip i commented on with ur arms, good job on that i hope you continue to improve in that area. also, kinda related but you should take ur flow in more places, 1:25-1:50 it pretty much stayed in one place and thats far far too long. experiment with doing liquid over ur head to your sides and below your torso more.

its also good that u recognize your elbow problem, its important that you try to get away from that asap so it doesnt become even more of a habit. bigger liquid takes alot more power/tension and control to keep clean but it is worth it in the long run.

diggin it!  from the start, you were into the music.  you were groovin, although a bit stiff in the upper body.  when you started your hand movements, you were in timing with the music.  the movements that you were doing with also in tempo with the music.  being able to do this, i think, is a fantastic start on what hopefully is a long journey ahead.

things to work on:

1) that upper body stiffness.  loosen up and drop your shoulders.  sway your arms when you groove.  and i dont mean do liquid.  i mean just get your whole body into that swaying, bouncing motion.

2) your hands and overall illusion is dead-center in front of your chest for the most of the clip.  open it up.  move it around your body.  move your body around it.  i think the easiest illusions are made in front of the chest, but the most difficult and often most mindblowing are presented away from the chest.  moving it around will give you a variety as well.

3) hand distancing.  always a big one for beginners.  your hands are ~2" apart for the most the clip.  this is partially because of #2.  try to open up in this area too.  go from small distancing to large distancing.  do entire songs with 3 foot hand distancing.  once again, more variation.  the longer the distance is from your hands, the more difficult an illusion is to mantain.

4) hand posture.  you've got those ol' "hookhands."  a cupped handposture that runs rampant in beginners (we all did it).  experiment with different hand postures.  space your fingers apart.  use Spock hands.  try a Peace sign with your hand or close your hands together entirely into fists.

My dancing was VERY similar when I first started. I was at a party and a guy came up to me and kind of busted my balls a bit, which was what inspired me to learn more about the actual style of liquid. The terms he used for my stuff were : Too constricted, too many figure 8s, no speed control, and lack of any sort of big moves at all. I felt sort of awkward when it happened, but I was glad it did, as I found Floasis due to the criticism. I would level the same comments at your dance. Others have already stated it, but, work on big rails, and work on speed control and tension. I found that once I opened up the liquid to go all around my body, as well as getting splits/crossovers going, my liquid got a lot less constricted and much more varied.

RE: integrating footwork w/ liquid - This is TOUGH at first... and....later, too.  ;) I have a lot of issues with this, and I work on it a lot. As someone mentioned in, I think Birdage's thread, It's counter-intuitive to combine groovy feet with technical arms and hands, so it is always an uphill battle. Occasionally, when I am feeling really loose at a party and have been dancing for hours, it clicks for me, but then I have trouble replicating the feeling/flow the next day. It gets frustrating sometimes, but keep on chuggin.

I've upped my practice too :)

I think you're on the right track with focusing on your hands for now. It's hard to tell from the pants and lighting/camera angle, but the footwork is at least there, it's moving. Once you expand your flow, I think it should be easier to synch up your arms and your feet, find new movements, and clean up whatever it is that you end up doing.
