I did the eyes closed thing last night. It helped a little. At least it helped me forget about dancing to the camera. I also tried a little bounce thing and returning to old school orbital style for a base, as birdage would refer to it. I think it looked a lot better than what I've been trying. Liquid as a dance in the traditional sense, go figure. Something is drawing me to dancey liquid lately, even though the flow portion is a lot less impressive. It's just nice to look at I think, sort of how 90s hip hop dancing isn't illusional but still fun to watch.

Hmm, no matter what I try, the digital liquid keeps winning out. I just compared attempts at dancey regular full-body liquid vs. dancey digital full-body liquid, and the latter looked better. With regular liquid, I'm low on patterns and not as crisp. Oh well, I guess it's just how I dance, who I am.

imo you should just go with what you know then, its not within everyone to completely start from scratch with something new(definitely not for me), so you should just do the style you know and work bits and pieces in one by one, let the change come slowly :)

Yeah, and it reflects who I am better anyways. It fits my body type and how I learned. A dance should be about self-expression, right? I'll give the plain liquid till the end of the month for posterity's sake.

wow a YeJoon/Dad/whatever clone! This is one of the reasons why the Bio's need to be .... filtered.

this was actually decent from an intellectual perspective. The overall movement obviously isn't there yet, but some of the connections were interesting.

Im kinda guessing by ur appearance and posts that ur an intellectual?

Im wondering, whats more inspiring to you? Intelligent connections like Kai/Tommy/Birdcage etc etc  ? Or the physical ability of Tiger/Rush etc etc ??

Hmm have been wondering about this for a while. THink i will make a new topic.

Haha, I don't know, I guess I like some brainy things. I'm not sure how you would infer that from my appearance, though.

I guess the intelligent connections appeal to me more, generally speaking, but I do find that general style to be wanting of something, and so here we are.

well there's plenty of room for error, but if ur keen enough on reading body language and body organisation...  then appearances can be very informative.

I haven't read all the posts in this thread but I would like to throw this out there.
I think what you should be working on now is getting back to what you used to be able to do because you were at a higher level and had better flow mechanics when this clip was filmed :

So Imo, your goal should be to re trace your footsteps and re learn the things that allowed you to flow the way you did in that clip. Then once you feel like you've reached that level or close to it, you then start expanding and taking other directions. But for now, focus on being able to do the type of flow paths you could do in that clip, because being able to do those, combined with your new ideas could prove to be a potent combo. :)

Hmm, maybe. This reverse mirror (camera hooked up to TV) has had an interesting (positive) effect, so I'm going to at least keep pushing on through with this for the rest of the month as that was sort of the project, and then see what to do from there.
