Yeah, here's my one..
as you all know, i suck. But yeah, thought i might as well do it any way.

I'm not actually sure what my main aim is for this, but what I do know is that I won't just be trying to improve on one or two little things.. I'll be improving on simply everything ;D, as you all can see. :)

Yeah, so umm.. yeah :D

Woo, New Zealand! I just got done watching a bunch of Flight of the Concords episodes, heh. Do you guys really talk like that?

OK, here are the things I noticed:
-Slow it down. Maybe when you practice, try 1 cycle of flow per measure of music. I think the threshold for speed is 2 cycles per measure, generally speaking.
-Right now, the flow is contained primarily within your hands. Get more of your arms involved, past your elbows and up to your shoulders. Here are a couple clips that show what I mean:

-You've got a good little bounce going, so clearly you feel the music. Expand on that with your legs and feet.
-I know it is tempting to look at your flow because it is pretty mesmerizing, but find something more purposeful to do with your head.

The initial learning curve that separates the newbs from the mid-tier dancers usually boils down to these points, and they're not that difficult to address, so once you get them taken care of, you'll be well on your way. :)

Damn, I knew I shoulda put the last take i did of this.

It had more arm work.. in it.

Coz in this, i'm more concentrating on my hand stuff, which is what i had just started doing in the last month lol. Before that, I didn't really do anything with the hands.

Well cheers for that, I really needed to know what it was I needed to pick up on. and the specific stuff too ;D
Thanks man :P

good post and it's good that you know you have a lot to work on.  That being said, at least you posted something and your taking a active role to improve your dance :)

Speed was the first thing that I noticed as I viewed your clip.  The song is however long, right?  So it seems as I'm watching the clip your rushing to the end of it.  Don't know if this is because your embarrassed by your dancing or anxious to see what you've done but I'd say try to find a groove and just sit in it.  The other thing (and this will probably be something that only bugs me) is your head.  I put a lot into facial expressions when I dance and if not that making sure my face is pointing in a direction that will lend it self to the dance.  So maybe just observing where my liquid is at or maybe where it's going.  Something, just so as long as I'm not staring at my chest...

Finally, Do you guys really have a lot of penguins there?

Thanks heaps man, seriously ;D. But what do you mean "the song is however, long"? lol.
But, rushing? Wow, I haven't noticed that before.. Haven't really taken notice, but now that you mention it.. I probably do. Lol. So I'll like try slow down a bit.. take my time.. act more like a flow :P.
Haha, yeah, that'd be right, I always see other dancers kinda making expressions.. Then you look at me.. BORING :D.
...aaand penguins. Hahaha tubh, I don't even know. I know we have some, I think the yellow eyed penguin is like one of our national birds? Dunno haha. Cheers man.

Aw thanks man, yeah, I think that my digitz are my specialty.. I love playing with my hands and fingers, when ever I'm walking around school, i'm usually doing some kind of digit work with them.. So I guess I practice alot with it. Awk.. Yeah, I get you.. with the note thing. I really need to work on my rails and stuff :P So yeah, I hope my after clip will be good-ish ;D
I appreciate it heaps dude, thanks tiny :D

i second joon's and tom's points and will add that u should slow down on the digits until you have enough control with them that you can do them fast.

also try a little more diversity in ur flow, ur repetition isnt too bad but i noticed you going back to the same flow paths a few times.

The way I like to think about digits is dominoes lined up and falling down. That's basically how finger waves work. Or like this:

I didn't use the lpc finger wave foundation that much when I was learning digits. Basically raised finger waves and manipulations of it. I used another idea to create my waves. Basically it's this exercise. I didn't do all the mutations irwin does I just approached what he calls bends in a wave like fashion as I described above.

I still do this exercise and I'll continue to do it till I achieve complete isolation. So you can try messing around with it. Try doing single bends starting from your pinky and working to your index finger. Beware you will crack your knuckles and it will hurt sometimes.

It's gonna be hard to do the digitz slow with the song.. since its fast. But I could try Lol.

I've noticed that too, how I go back to the same flow path... I need some new moves :P.
